I am a certified Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) provider. After injury or traumatic events, our bodies aren’t the only thing that needs to heal: our brains and nervous systems do, too. In tandem with PRT techniques, I use my background in multicultural therapy and trauma therapy to support QTBIPOC chronic pain sufferers find some relief.
Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) is an evidence-based treatment that gets to the root of your pain by addressing it from a different perspective than typical strategies you find at the doctor’s office or pharmacy. While PRT is backed by neuroscience, it is ultimately rooted in Indigenous knowledge that the mind and body have a deeply reciprocal relationship.
In PRT, you learn psychological techniques and body-based practices that change how your brain processes pain signals so you can finally find relief. You’ll learn about “neuroplastic pain” and how your brain can create real pain in your nervous system, even without a physical cause.
