I’m a Black, queer, femme with a theatre background— actor and playwright— before becoming a social worker. I was born in the South, spent young adulthood in the Midwest, and have called the Bay Area home ever since. I’m a fan of dancing, thunderstorms, fireflies, and sci fi/speculative fiction. I’m cis, live with chronic illnesses, and am a proud auntie.
Folks who work with me share appreciations for my ability to ask meaningful questions, offer compassion, and not turn away from intense emotions. I’m able to hold onto hope while not diminishing or ignoring the realities of the pain that comes with existing in this world. I’m also helpful with identifying specific action steps to integrate insights from therapy into daily life.
As a therapist, I see myself as a “Co-explorer” on your journey to living the life you want. I’ll bring my expertise, training, lived experience, and curiosity; you’ll bring your knowledge and wisdom about your life, body, experiences, and hopes. We’ll be a team.
My work utilizes relational, somatic, liberatory, and psychodynamic approaches. I believe in the power of connection; the impact of past experiences on current responses; the wisdom of the body; and the reality of societal context. I see healing as a process of integration–bringing ourselves back together in the places where we had to fragment to survive.
I enjoy working with other healers, therapists, and people who want to get out of the jaws of perfectionism and into a life that isn’t internally painful. The majority of my caseload have at least two of the following identities: People of the Global Majority/BIPOC; LGBTQ+; Neurodiverse/Neurospicy (ADHD dominant); Chronic Illness/Medical trauma survivors; Therapist/Healer/Activist; Empaths/Deep Feelers; Trauma Impacted.
